Instant Self-Discipline

self disciplineThe key to Self-Discipline is doing those things you know you should do, especially when you don’t feel like doing them. Whether it’s finishing work or school all the way to exercising or eating well, self-discipline is the difference between success and failure.

But what happens when you just can’t move from a slump? When you just don’t have the energy to move forward? What if you’re just burned out to the max?

Then just change your routine… Change whatever you’re doing at this very moment. Start with your posture. Sit up straight. Stand up if you can. Kick your legs around a bit. Start getting ready like if you were about to begin a race and you’re at the starting line about to take off. Feel your body tense up and follow your thoughts.

The best way to break a low-energy moment is through physicality. It’s hard to sit there and ‘will’ your way to motivation. Sometimes you have to force your physical body into movement, and soon thereafter your mind follows.
